The Ultimate Fruit Winemakers Guide pdf free download. Last week I had the pleasure of attending the prizegiving lunch for the 33rd Annual Blaauklippen Blending Competition. The competition brings the industry closer to the consumer with wine lovers and not winemakers doing the blending. Entries come from bona fide wine societies, guilds or clubs. Each year Blaauklippen’s winemaking team selects the four varietals for the competition blend. The brief for 2016 was to make an easy drinking, fruity wine of medium complexity. This year’s competition attracted 72 entries of which 8 came from outside of South Africa. The ceremony and the lunch were hosted by congenial Rolf Zeitvogel, MD and Cellarmaster at Blaauklippen, whose charm and warmth soon had us feeling like one of the family. We were treated to a glorious three course lunch, which must have been hard to digest for the four finalists nervously waiting to hear if they had won!
